It’s European Cybersecurity Month!

This year there is a push on the “ThinkB4UClick” mentality. As we know, 95% of data breaches are caused by computer users clicking on malicious links, entering passwords on Phishing sites, and downloading malicious files, so we at Southern Solutions take user training really seriously.

When running our training sessions, the first thing we look at is the current threats facing your company or home network. In every session we find participants shocked by how easy it is to fall victim to cybercrime.

These days a simple click on the wrong button can bring your company to a standstill, just look at this video showing how easy and fast ransomware can infiltrate your company.

Simply seeing videos and examples like these can really hammer home the importance of the #ThinkB4UClick campaign.

We know that everybody makes mistakes and sometimes the wrong link or button is clicked, so it is important to know that you have many layers of security and critical that you have trust in your IT company to keep your systems safe. Some things you should be looking out for and asking your IT company about are:

Microsoft 365 Advanced Threat Protection
Microsoft 365 Multi Factor Authentication
Regular Cybersecurity Training
Ransomware Protection
Antivirus Protection
Perimeter Firewalls

With a combination of the above services, you can be confident that the security of your company systems and data is of a good standard. The services above should mean that even if a member of staff is trying hard to install ransomware or some other malicious software onto your systems then there are layers of security to prevent it at every stage of the installation process.
